Another thing to remember is if you write a good article you stand a chance of other people picking your articles up for their websites.  In the world of articles in most cases anyone is allowed to use your articles on their sites as long as they leave them exactly in tact including any links.  This will result in even more backlinks to your site.

Of course there are people who will use your article and strip the links.  At the end of the day there isn't a whole lot you can do about this.  The nice thing is most webmasters are honest enough and they will leave the articles the way they are intended to be.
